One of the best ways to explore wine with Valley Wine Merchants is to provide a budget for a case of wine with some general preferences (i.e. "white burgundies, pinots, etc.") and let Andrew introduce you to a range of producers and wines you probably would never stumble across on your own. There won't be a bad bottle in the bunch, I promise you. While I have shopped in-person with him in OR, he's happily shipped many orders to me in SF. I also highly recommend subscribing to his email newsletter, because he often shares rare wines and amazing deals on new arrivals.
